England got their Four Nations Tournament campaign off to a winning start by beating Sweden 2-0 in La Manga.

Lucy Staniforth fired Brent Hills’s side into the lead on 21 minutes with a 25-yard drive and captain Gemma Bonner sealed the win in the 51st minute, heading home from a corner.

The scoreline might have looked even healthier but for Isobel Christiansen seeing her effort ruled out by the referee.

Next up for the Young Lions is Norway on Saturday.
