The U20s get a feel for the pitch ahead of their opening game.
We woke up at 7.30am, a mirror of tomorrow’s match day. We all met in reception at around 8am to go out for a walk to wake us up a little before breakfast.
After breakfast we had a bit of time before our 10am departure for training at the stadium.
When we arrived at the stadium there was a lot of excitement as we got our first glimpse of the pitch. It was immaculate and perfect for how we play.
A lot of nervous energy was felt by all the girls as we got our boots on in the changing rooms we were allocated for tomorrow.
FIFA rules states we were only allowed to use the pitch for 45mins to train on, not a second over! So we were sharp and focused when we got on the pitch and made full use of the time by practising aspects of the match day warm-up, blow-out and individual self coaching.
After training their was a press conference held at the stadium with (Kez Harrop and Jade Moore) as the other girls headed back onto the coach ready to go back to the hotel.
Back at the hotel we had some lunch and spent the rest of the day recovering and getting ourselves ready for the game.
Time’s getting on and we finished the day with a team meeting. All the girls have their own specific routines the night before the game but we all shared one by getting an early night.
