Changing Rooms in Augsburg

Decorating the meeting room helps the players focus on their challenge.

As it does everyday, breakfast was at 9am then we went out on the training pitch at 10.30.

Saturday's session started with a quick-fire shooting game, which again got pretty competitive! Then the forwards and midfielders were split from the defenders to work on their attacking play while the defenders at the same time worked on their defending.

The session finished with us all back together to look at attacking and defending set-plays - a very important part of our strategy. It ended the session on a high before we all got aboard our team coach and drove back to the hotel for some recovery strategies and lunch.

It was a laid back afternoon and allowed time for treatments and rest, then we all went into the meeting room once more to discuss the day's sessions and how we can progress even more. Everyone feels on track.

After dinner, we had the task to decorate our meeting room with pictures, quotes and inspirational things that we can look at when we are all together, to help us focus.

Chelsea reminded us all of her 'blondeness', by offering to carry the 6ft tall/ 6ft wide notice board up to our meeting room - bearing in mind the meeting room is on floor 34 of a 36 storey building!

The whole squad helped decorate, it was a good time for team bonding! Meanwhile Abbie had to do the forfeit today… she obviously didn’t learn from Shelby’s mistake!

What Do You Think?

  • If I were to decorate the changing rooms in Augsburg I'd put one HUGE poster in it with"SIMPLY THE BEST" on it......and in the middle I'd put the write-up that's on the FIFA website about you young ladies....loved the bit about "veteran" striker Toni Duggan! I must admit that where it says "Key player" I'd substiute their suggestion with just ONE word......"EVERYONE" as tou're TEAM England! On behalf of everyone else in England I'd submit a poster "We love you to bits, England, and we'll be rooting for you all the way. We're sooo proud of you! COME ON ENGLAND!"By Johno (33 months ago)
  • Never knock a volunteer! Well done Chelsea....great idea which shows committment to the Team! How are the "ice baths" going?????By Johno (33 months ago)
