England Women's U19s and Sweden drawn together in Elite Group 1.
The England Women’s U19 side face another encounter against Sweden after the two nations were drawn alongside each other in the Elite Round of this season’s European Championship.
England beat Sweden 2-0 in the Final of last season’s competition, courtesy of goals from Toni Duggan and Jordan Nobbs, and they will be joined in Group 1 by Turkey and Republic of Ireland.
The nation finishing top of this group will join five other group winners in automatically qualifying for the Finals tournament, which, this season is being staged in FYR Macedonia, with room for only one runner-up. England qualified for this stage of the competition by finishing second in the First Qualifying Round.
England’s Elite Round matches will be staged in Sweden on 27 March, 29 March and 1 April 2010.
Meanwhile, the draw for First Qualifying Round of next season’s European Championship was made on Tuesday and England have been pitched alongside Moldova (hosts), Armenia and Finland. These matches will take place in September 2010.
