England U19 Women got their European Championship qualifying stage off to a start on Thursday afternoon, when they sealed a draw with Slovakia.

The Young Lionesses had to show their character too, after falling behind in the first half when Gemma Bonner unfortunately scored an own goal to give Slovakia the adavnatage.

However, Mo Marley's side didn't give up and found themselves level with just less than 10 minutes to play when Bonner's Leeds Carnegie team-mate Jade Moore scored the equaliser.

England are next in action on Saturday when they face Slovenia in Velenje.

England: Lauren Davey, Rachel Daly, Naomi Chadwick, Michelle Hinnigan, Jodie Jacobs, Gemma Bonner, Sarah Wiltshire (Jessica Holbrook, 70), Isobel Christiansen, Lucy Staniforth, Jade Moore, Rebecca Jane (Jordan Nobbs, 55).
