England Women's U15 side to play Netherlands in February.

On Monday 21 February, after a week of women’s and girls’ activities in the local area, the Leicestershire & Rutland FA will host an international match between the England Women’s U15 team and their Dutch counterparts.

It will be the second time in five months that an England side will have played at Holmes Park, after Brent Hills’ England Women’s U23 side defeated Germany there in September last year. That match attracted a large, vociferous crowd, comprising mainly of pupils from local schools and it is hoped a 7pm kick-off will draw an equally big number of fans.

“We are delighted and honoured to be hosting the England Women’s U15 v Netherlands match at Holmes Park, and look forward to welcoming both national teams to our excellent headquarters,” said the Leicestershire & Rutland FA Chief Executive Laurence Jones.

“The fixture coincides with the week of action which will see a variety of events designed to promote the women’s and girls’ game and to encourage people to take an active part in all aspects of football.

“The England and Germany match was watched by over 600 spectators and I am sure that this fixture will generate a lot interest in the local football community, and with no admission charge this is a wonderful opportunity to experience international football in Leicester."
