The England captain is proud of her team's efforts in Finland
England captain Faye White says her side can be proud of their efforts despite losing 6-2 to Germany in the UEFA European Championship Final.
Hope Powell's girls put on a brave performance, running Germany close for an hour, but were eventually overpowered by an experienced German out fit in Helsinki.
But White is confident the campaign can be the catalyst for a series of improved performances in future tournaments.
"It's the first time we've got to the Final - we wanted to win but the Germans have a lot of experience and are used to occasions like this," said White.
"But so many people didn't think we would reach the Final, especially when we lost to Italy in the group stages.
"The girls can hold their heads up high after this tournament, but at the end of the day Germany were better than us."
