Anita Asante says England will go into Friday's Cyprus Cup clash with Scotland feeling confident.

The midfielder helped Hope Powell's side register a 4-2 win over Italy on Wednesday and she believes her team-mates are in the mood to make it two wins from two as they continue their preparations for Euro 2013.

Asante said: "The girls are buzzing after the Italy game so we're all in a positive frame of mind.

"We scored four goals and played some really good football which we hope we can repeat against Scotland."

The last time the Three Lions faced Scotland, in the 2011 Cyprus Cup, goals from Arsenal duo Kim Little and Jennifer Beattie gave the Scots their first win in this fixture for 34 years.

Both goalscorers will be involved again on Friday and although Asante acknowledges their talent, she says England will be going all out for the win.

She added: "Everyone knows about Kim Little, she's world class. The Arsenal players will obviously know her very well but a lot of us got to see how good she was close up during the Olympics, likewise Jane Ross.

"Jennifer Beattie is a great player, too, and Scotland have got good players all over the pitch so it should be a tough game.

"England v Scotland is always a big game for both sides and no-one wants to lose.

"But we can go into the game feeling good. Hopefully we can avenge that defeat from a couple of years ago."
