England Women’s National Coach nominated for FIFA Coach of the Year
Hope Powell has been nominated for FIFA Coach of the Year in women’s football.
The England Women’s National Coach has had a memorable 2012, leading her country to the Euro 2013 Finals just two months after taking charge of Team GB at the London Olympics.
Powell is on a shortlist of 10 coaches nominated for the award and the winner will be announced on 7 January 2013.
Other coaches nominated include Englishman John Herdman, who guided Canada to a bronze medal in the summer, and Pia Sundhage, the Swedish coach of the gold-medal-winning USA team.
