England Women's Head Coach to be presented with Blue Peter Gold Badge.

BBC One will this afternoon screen the presentation of a Blue Peter Gold Badge to England Women’s Head Coach, Hope Powell, who was awarded the badge for masterminding England's route through to the Final of the 2009 European Championship.

Hope was also recognised for her services to women’s football during her career both as a player and manager.

The Gold Badge is Blue Peter's highest award and is given for exceptional achievement and inspirational examples to children, such as people who have performed acts of extreme bravery or represented their country in a major event. Hope joins fellow 2009 winners, Jenson Button, Rebecca Ennis, Usain Bolt and Gary Barlow in receiving the award.

The presentation is due to be screened this afternoon at 4.35pm on BBC One.
