Henri Lansbury says he's determined to help England get back to the European Championship Finals in Israel in two years time as the Three Lions prepare for their first qualifier of the new campaign.
Stuart Pearce's side meet Azerbaijan in their opening Group 8 encounter at Watford on Thursday night and Lansbury, who was part of the squad who were knocked out in the group stage in this year's Finals in Denmark, is looking to go one step further.
The Arsenal midfielder spoke to FATV during an Under-21s team visit to the Luton factory of England Team Sponsor Vauxhall. Staff at the plant, which produces the Vivaro van, were able to get autographs and pictures from Lansbury and his five team mates Jordan Henderson, Jack Rodwell, Jack Butland, Craig Dawson and Marvin Sordell.
And they had a look around the general assembly areas, too, lending a hand and seeing how the vans are finished off. Lansbury and West Brom defender Dawson also rode one of the vehicles off the production line.
"It's been a good trip here today," he said. "Learning how the vans get made. It's great for the people to come out and see us and it's good for the lads to experience what other people do as jobs.
"Hopefully we can get as many of these people out to see us a Watford. It's a nice pitch and I played their two seasons ago and I'm looking forward to the game.
"There's a fresh bunch of lads so we hope we can start the Euros off with a good game.
Lansbury, who came off the bench in all three England games in Denmark in June, added: "Being there and experiencing it [defeat to Czech Republic] was one of the worst feelings I've felt. So we have to go out and show what we can do again.
"[The new players] look very sharp and it's always good to play with new players. I think we've got a great chance and a great group of lads. We're just looking forward to getting started."
