Action from England Under-21s training in Norwich ahead of Serbia clash
A cracking goal from
Connor Wickham was one of the highlights of the England Under-21s training session on Wednesday.
The Sunderland striker’s arrowing left-foot strike during a small-sided game at Norwich City’s Colney training base gave keeper Declan Rudd little chance as it crashed in off the post.
Joining Wickham among the goals was Liverpool’s
Raheem Sterling, who is enjoying his first get-together with Stuart Pearce’s men, and Bolton hitman
Marvin Sordell.
Andros Townsend, another of the four newcomers to the Under-21s, was lively during the session as they prepare for
Friday’s Euro 2013 play-off first leg with Serbia at Carrow Road.
Meanwhile, on the pitch next door, Norwich City’s first team were being put through their paces by boss Chris Hughton.

However, there was bad news for Pearce as two of his original squad have returned home. Former Canaries loanee Henri Lansbury, now at Nottingham Forest, and Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne are both out of the two play-off games with injury.
Liverpool defender Jack Robinson has been called in as a replacement.
