England Under-21 midfielder signs four-year deal with Championship outfit
England Under-21 midfielder Henri Lansbury has left Arsenal to join Nottingham Forest on a four-year deal.
The 21-year-old is the seventh permanent signing made by the Championship side since the Al Hasawi family's takeover.
Lansbury has spent loan spells with Norwich and West Ham in the last two seasons, helping both win promotion to the Premier League.
But the playmaker has been unable to break into Arsene Wenger's midfield at the Emirates and has now opted for a permanent switch away.
"Having been at Norwich and West Ham when they were promoted I suppose I've seen at first-hand what is required and I'm in no doubt that Forest have what it takes to go up," Lansbury told Forest's official website.
"There are a lot of good players here and I just can't wait to get working with them in training on Thursday.
"I know I am leaving a huge club in Arsenal, where I have been since I was eight but the time is right for me to move on and I'm delighted to be joining a club of Forest's stature in the game."
Forest chairman Omar Al Hasawi said: "Henri joins us as a young player with a rich pedigree.
“He fits the bill perfectly as the kind of talented player that our manager Sean O'Driscoll is intent on bringing into the club."
