Underestimate Brazil at any level and they will punish you. This Under-20 side are no different, ending their qualifying campaign with a 6-0 thumping of Uruguay.
Brazil head to Colombia 2011 aiming to claim their fifth FIFA U-20 World Cup title. Victors at Mexico 1983, USSR 1985, Australia 1993 and UAE 2003, the only time that Brazil failed to appear at the competition was at Japan 1979.
The team boasts some amazing talent, including Sao Paulo youngsters Lucas Gaucho and Casemiro scoring four goals apiece and playing a key role in a triumph which also secured Brazil's place at the Olympic Football Tournament London 2012.
However, the most impressive player is Santos' Neymar. The starlet's dribbling skills and attacking bursts has seen him coveted by the world’s elite. Add in a lethal efficiency to go with his trickery, as well as finishing as the top scorer at the South American U-20 Championship in Peru with nine goals in seven games, and you can easily see why this player has the potential to be one of the best in the world. Unfortunately for Coach Ney Franco, he hasn't been available for selection for the trip across South America.
Franco can expect an enviable selection dilemma still, such is the depth of young talent at his disposal. However, you can guarantee that the players that do make the final squad will be the best of the best and they will surely be one of the front runners to go all the way.
