A full history of the Toulon Tournament, which England have won four times.
The famous Toulon Tournament is something of an anomaly of international competitions in that it is not run under the auspices of UEFA or a national association.
Traditionally involving teams comprised of Under-21 players, games are usually played in several cities in the Region du Var in southern France, with the final in Toulon.
Participation in the event is by invitation only and, since 1974 has involved national teams, though the first edition in 1967 featured clubs.
England have won the tournament four times and are the third most successful nation in the history of the competition behind Brazil and France.
