England U19s Head Coach Noel Blake praises contribution of Tony Adams with his squad

Noel Blake has paid tribute to former England captain Tony Adams, who was part of his staff for Thursday night’s win over Turkey.
The Arsenal legend was invited to join Blake’s backroom team for the game, which was the final warm-up match before the Elite Qualifying Round games in May.
And Blake says Adams was a welcome addition to the group during the build-up to the match, which was settled by Calum Chambers’ first-half strike.
He told FATV: “Tony’s been terrific. I’ve known Tony since playing against him back in the day and he’s been great.
“He’s been a leader around the camp, as he was when he was a player and he’s a terrific human being.”
For the players, it was a boost to see such an iconic figure involved when they reported to their Shropshire base for the game last Sunday.
And his contribution to training was something which really impressed Blake, with the 46-year-old passing on his advice and tips to the players.
Blake added: “He’s been great with the lads, he’s been here, there and everywhere in training and done a couple of sessions.
“It’s been good, because he’s a real football person as well as a good human being and he’s been terrific to have around the place.”
