England U19s ace says Young Lions can prove a point in Estonia.

England U19s forward Harry Kane is hoping to help the Three Lions to Euro glory in Estonia and also to prove a point that there is plenty of young English talent looking to break through.

The Tottenham Hotspur starlet feels that the criticism levelled at England's younger players in numerous quarters following the Senior team's quarter final exit at Euro 2012 is inaccurate, and with the U19s squad now preparing to start their own European Championship campaign, is looking to prove a point.

Noel Blake's side are already down to the last eight from the 48 nations who entered this tournament at the start of the season and begin their group stages on Tuesday afternoon when they face Croatia in Tallinn.

Kane has been a regular in the U19s squad this season, with the Young Lions remaining unbeaten so far, and believes there is plenty of talent within this group of players to make an impression in the Euro Finals.

"As a country in the major tournaments, we haven't done as well as what the fans expect us to," he admitted.

"When you see the Premier League, which is one of the best in the world, the fans are wondering why, but I think we have a great youth system.

"A lot of young, talented players are coming through. People keep saying that 'we haven't got a Pirlo' but I think we have.

"People need to be patient, I think there's better to come."

The 18-year-old was in impressive form for England in May as he helped the team to qualify for the Finals during the Elite Round and after a relatively short summer break, he's now champing at the bit to get playing again.

"We've had a few weeks off since the Qualifying Round so it will be good to start playing again and hopefully we can do well here," he added.

"With the players we've got, I'm expecting to do well in this tournament, hopefully we can go on to win it.

"We want to prove to people that we can be the next generation and we want to use that in a positive way."

Whilst Serbia and France complete England's group and lie in wait after the first game, attentions are currently focused firmly on Croatia and Kane is expecting a thorough test against them.

"We've watched a few DVDs of them, but we know they'll be a good side," he said. "They've got some top internationals so we're expecting a tough game.

"As long as we keep grounded and doing the right things, we should be fine."
