U19s planning their New Year schedule ahead of Euro draw.

England U19s will find out their Euro fate early next month, when the draw is made for the UEFA European U19 Championship Elite Round.

Taking place on 8 December at UEFA’s Nyon HQ in Switzerland, the Young Lions will be drawn out alongside three other teams with only one of those going through to the Finals in northern France next summer.

After collecting three wins from three games in the First Qualifying Round in October, Noel Blake’s side go into the draw as one of the seeded teams, but with all nations at this stage desperate to reach the last eight, they know a tough challenge lies ahead.

It’s been a good campaign for Blake and his squad so far, with the Head Coach leading England to five wins out of five but he is not taking anything for granted and preparations for the Elite Round, often played in May, are already being planned.

“We know we’re looking to play Holland in the New Year, probably in early March, ahead of the Elite Round,” he revealed.

“Of course, that depends on whether or not we draw them in the Elite Round, but it will be a good test for us as have the other friendlies we have played against Russia and Turkey.”

Blake also admits that could be followed with another game, depending upon the schedules in the New Year and the timing and location of the Elite Round.

“We will have a look and see if we have room for another fixture in the season and take it from there,” he added. “It all depends on what the timetable will be regarding the Elite Round though," he added.

“They can be scheduled on three or four different dates, but ultimately it depends on who we get in the draw.”
