Liverpool striker Craig Lindfield is hoping for another chance to show his talents at Crewe's Alexandra Stadium when the England U19s take on Switzerland later this month.

Craig scored at the stadium for Liverpool in a pre-season friendly and will be eagerly looking to repeat the feat for his country on 14 November.

In the company of Jerzy Dudek, Sami Hyypia and Robbie Fowler, it was Craig who scored the only goal of the game against Crewe at the end of July.

The tall striker also grabbed a brace against Austria in the recent UEFA Preparatory Tournament for the England U19s and is in fine form for both club and country - recently grabbing a goal on his Liverpool Reserve Team debut against Middlesbrough.

Craig told TheFA.com: "To be honest it was a bit of a shock to be called up for the first team in pre-season, I'd only just gone up to Melwood (Liverpool's training ground) a couple of weeks beforehand because I was still at the Academy.

"I got up on the Saturday morning after training with the players on the Friday and it was just unreal looking around at the faces on the bus. I was sitting next to Sami Hyypia and Robbie Fowler - who is my idol.

"It was great playing with Fowler and they were all good with me, they gave me advice and told me not to be nervous. Just being on the pitch was good enough for me, but obviously scoring was just amazing.

"It will be great if I get another chance to play at Crewe and I'm really enjoying playing for the U19s. We have an excellent squad and hopefully we can put in a good performance against Switzerland."

Lindfield is among a host of talented young England players set to appear in the match at the Alexandra Stadium. Tickets are on sale now for the match on November 14 priced just £3 for adults in advance (£5 on match day) and £1 for under-16s and OAPs. The ticket hotline is 01270 252610. Group discounts are available from TheFA.com

A full interview with Craig Lindfield will appear in the match day programme.
