U17s midfielder Charlie Colkett speaks to FATV after his goal against Italy.
England U17s midfielder Charlie Colkett scored his first goal for the Three Lions on Wednesday night and spoke to FATV after the game about the 3-2 reverse against Italy.
The Chelsea man converted a low shot after Mason Bennett picked him out in the area to put John Peacock's team two goals clear in the first half. Unfortunately, the Azzurrini pulled a goal back and then hit back after the break to turn the game around and win 3-2, but Colkett was pleased with England's first-half display.
"It was a great first-half performance and I managed to get my first goal for the team," said the east Londoner.
"But it was just a shame to lose a goal before half time which gave them a big boost for the second half."
Colkett and his squad-mates have had the pleasure of being the first England team to experience the facilities at St. George's Park for this Tournament along with the squads from Italy, Turkey and Portugal and after a few days of training in both the indoor and outdoor facilities in Burton, Colkett has been left impressed.
"It's been brilliant," he added. "The Park has first-class facilities and we've been coping really well."
