England draw 1-1 with Georgia in second Euro qualifier.
by Glenn Lavery
England’s second Euro qualifier finished all square as Georgia came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with John Peacock’s side in Tbilisi.
Everton’s Hallam Hope fired the Young Lions into the lead on nine minutes, with his third goal in two games, but Bachana Arabuli equalised for the hosts on 63 minutes to take a share of the spoils.
Both sides are now locked on four points after two matches (England beat Sweden 3-0 on Monday, while Georgia defeated Poland 2-1). This result, coupled with the goalless draw in the other Group 3 game, means that qualification to the Elite Qualifying Round is still very much up for grabs, though a point for England against Poland on Saturday would be enough to see them through.
