Blair Turgott's winner against Poland ensures Euro progress.
by Glenn Lavery
Blair Turgott scored the only goal of the game as England beat Poland 1-0 in their final match of the opening round of Euro qualifiers.
A 3-0 win over Sweden on Monday and a 1-1 draw with host nation Georgia on Wednesday meant John Peacock's side needed just a point against the Poles to ensure progress to the Elite Qualifying Round, which will take place early next year, but Turgott's goal just after the hour mark handed England all three points and top spot in the group.
Georgia beat Sweden 1-0 in the other Group 3 game to book their own spot in the Elites.
