England U16s Head Coach
Kenny Swain has named his squad for the annual Montaigu Tournament, which takes place in France early next month.
A group of 18 Young Lions will travel out to western France to take part in the competition, which sees them face four games in the space of six days and represents the next step of their international learning curve.
The Montaigu Tournament is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and as a result there will be 12 nations involved as opposed to the usual eight team competition.
England have been drawn out in Group C with Morocco and Japan, so will face two matches at that stage, starting on Tuesday 3 April against Japan before taking on Morocco two days later.
There are two further fixtures scheduled for all the teams on Saturday 7 April and Monday 9 April, which will be dependent on how the group positions finish before the final classifications are decided.
After leading his side to
a victory over Spain earlier in the year, Swain is now looking forward to this trip: "This is the next challenge for them. It's a different scenario because it's a tournament and will be their first experience of it.
"Whilst it's not a championship where you can get knocked out, you still play the games and get that taste of what it's like at a tournament.
"It will be a good tournament too, because there's a world element to it with 12 teams involved this year as it's the 40th anniversary of the tournament.
"The Montaigu Tournament is an important part of our programme so we're looking forward to it."
