The squad has been named for the opening game of the 2008 Sky Sports Victory Shield, when England U16s travel to face Northern Ireland next month.

The Young Lions lifted the Shield last season for the seventh successive year and will be hoping to keep that record going this time around.

Kenny Swain's first squad of the season features a handful of players who have already played for the U16s last year, such as Chelsea's Josh McEachran, Arsenal's Chuks Aneke, Leeds United's Luke Garbutt and Middlesbrough's Bruno Pilatos.

The Victory Shield sees England take on Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in a mini-league format with the team who finish top of the group lifting the trophy.

* Withdrawn and replaced by Jake Fowler of Middlesbrough FC.
