With a place in next summer's UEFA European Under-21s Championship Finals at stake, Peter Taylor's men know exactly how important Friday's game at the Ricoh Arena will be.
Then on Tuesday they line-up for the second leg in Leverkusen.
The home leg in Coventry is already a sell-out, with 32,000 expected. Captain Nigel Reo-Coker says that the fans will play a big part in helping England get the right result.
"It’s not simply about the 22 players on the pitch, the supporters here can really help a lot," he told TheFA.com.
"When crowds get behind the players it can provide a massive boost, which could make a difference on the pitch.
"You only have to play an away game, like the one in Switzerland, to realise how intimidating it can be when you haven’t got that many people supporting you.
"The crowd can play a part in being like the 12th man and we hope we can give them all something to cheer about on Friday."
Though tickets have all been sold, you can also follow the action on TheFA.com or watch live coverage on Sky Sports.
