UEFA European U21 Championship Group 8 Qualifier
7.30pm local time (6.30pm BST), Wednesday 6 September 2006
Stadion Allmend, Lucerne

Peter Taylor says his England players know exactly what is required from them when they meet Switzerland in a must-win qualifier on Wednesday night.

The Under-21s gathered on Sunday ahead of the vital trip to Lucerne and need a win to reach the play-off match for next summer's UEFA European U21 Championship Finals in Holland.

Following a surprise draw against Moldova last month, Taylor's side sit second in the three-team table after the Swiss beat Moldova 3-1 on Friday with this week's encounter the decider.

"We know what we've got to do, we've must go there and get the win," said Taylor.  "But we know they will be a good test for us, they are a very good side.

"The eleven players who start for us on Wednesday will be up for it and will be looking to get into that play-off," he added.

Taylor will be hoping that his side can improve on their performance against Moldova when, despite taking the lead twice, they conceded twice to take only one point from the match.

"We didn't play well enough that night, we kept giving the ball away cheaply and I didn't think we were patient enough on the ball.

"We've got to do all of those things right to do well against a good team like Switzerland."
