The call-up follows the withdrawals of Calum Davenport and Liam Ridgewell with groin and knee injuries respectively.

Davies joined Albion from Luton Town in a £3m move on transfer deadline day in August.

He made 62 appearances in Luton's title winning campaign last season, scoring twice, and was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year. It is his first international call-up.

England currently sit joint top of Group 6 with Germany after claiming 18 points from eight games, and have already qualified for November's two-leg play-offs which will identify the eight finalist teams.
