Paul Hopkins and Gabriel Agbonlaher have been called up to the England U20s squad to face Russia on 16 August.
The first game of the season for Dick Bate's side see the squad travel to Moscow this weekend ahead of the match in the Krylia Sovetov stadium next Tuesday.
Everton forward Hopkins, who played against Belgium for the U18s in March 2004, comes in for Aaron Lennon of Tottenham Hotspur who has withdrawn from the squad.
Villa midfielder Agbonlaher replaces Southampton winger Leon Best who picked up an injury playing on loan for Sheffield Wednesday against Peter Taylor's Hull City.
Best, who has yet to represent England, impressed for the Saints in last season's FA Youth Cup Final and scored the opening goal at Hillsborough last night only to break his foot in a challenge.
18-year-old Agbonlaher has never played for England and this will be his first trip away with a national squad.
