Darlington FC's Williamson Motors Stadium will play host to an England U19 international against Belgium on Tuesday 06 September.
Martin Hunter’s U19 squad will be in action for the first time this season at the home of the Quakers as they begin their preparations for the UEFA Friendly Tournament in October, where they will face Poland, Turkey and the
Czech Republic in a round-robin tournament.
England will also be hoping to build on their success during the UEFA European U19 Championships this summer, where they finished as runner-up having suffered a battling 3-1 defeat to France in the final at Windsor Park in Belfast.
Darlington FC has previously hosted the England U16s for a 2-1 victory over Spain in 2002 and the England National Game XI also recorded a 2-2 draw against Belgium the following year but this is the first time the U19s squad will have made the trip to the Williamson Motors Stadium.
England U19 Team Manager, Martin Hunter, said: "We can’t wait to get the international season under way and it’s fitting that we’re heading to Darlington’s fantastic new stadium for our first match of the season.
"Belgium always put out a strong squad and it will be a real test for the lads
but hopefully the North East’s England fans will turn out in force and cheer the lads to a first victory of the season."
Darlington FC’s Chairman Stewart Davies added: "Darlington Football Club is delighted to be hosting the England U19 squad and we’re hoping for a big crowd to welcome Martin Hunter and his side to the Williamson Motors Stadium.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for Darlington fans to witness international football in our great new stadium and I hope everyone will get behind England."
Tickets will go on sale shortly and fans should log onto TheFA.com and www.darlingtonfc.co.uk for further information. Tickets will be priced at £3 for adults in advance (£5 on day of game) and £1 for children (U16) and OAPs.
