The game is England's last friendly before the 2nd Qualifying Round for the European U19 Championships, which take place in Slovenia in April.
England come into the game in good form, having convincingly qualified through the first round of matches before going on to defeat Ruud Gullit's Dutch Under-19 side 2-0 in a friendly last month.
Then, goals from Leeds United's flying winger James Milner, and Norwich City striker Ian Henderson gained an impressive victory for Bate's side, and Henderson starts again tonight in Germany, buoyed by the Canaries' championship chasing form in Division One.
Bate named his starting eleven for tonight's game earlier this morning, and despite a stomach bug that has laid low some of the coaching staff, the players have so far escaped, enabling a strong team to line up against Dieter Eilts' German side.
Eilts was capped 31 times by his country in a distinguished career at current Bundesliga table toppers Werder Bremen, and was in the German side that played England during Euro '96.
The Germans will also be using tonight as the final game in their bid to qualify for the Under 19 European Championships, where they will face hosts Slovakia, Armenia and Portugal in their three games in May.
Germany's previous result this year saw them draw 0-0 against Belgium, featuring players from the cream of German Bundesliga sides.
TheFA.com will bring you a match report and post-match comment from the camp tomorrow morning, in a busy week for England sides which saw the Under 17s qualify for their European Championship Finals on Sunday, and sees the Seniors and Under 18s play tomorrow night.
