England Under-18s will play Holland at Yeovil Town’s Huish Park on Tuesday 27 March, it was confirmed on Wednesday.

The Glovers have hosted four England internationals since moving to Huish Park, with a semi-pro clash between the England and Holland the last, back in April 2002.

The U18s have also played twice previously at the ground, with a 3-3 draw against France in 1993 the first, and a 3-0 victory over Scotland in 1996 the second, the latter a match which featured Frank Lampard and Emile Heskey for The Three Lions.

England Head Coach Brian Eastick is looking forward to the game, which kicks-off at 7.45pm, and the chance to take his players to the South West.

"There is quite a buzz around the West Country with Yeovil and Bristol City riding high in League One, Plymouth through to the last eight of The FA Cup and Exeter City challenging for The Football Conference play-offs" said Eastick.

"The last Dutch squad contained players from Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord as well as Arsenal, so fans at the game can expect to see two technically strong teams who both like to play attacking football.

"We don’t get to play too many games at U18 level but I’m looking forward to seeing how the players have developed, as this game really is the first step in preparation for the 2008 UEFA U19 European Championship."

The current England team - Eastick will name his squad on 2 March - includes a number of talented Premier League youngsters, such as Manchester City striker Daniel Sturridge. Sturridge is the latest youngster from City’s academy predicted to follow the likes of Micah Richards into the first team.

Closer to Huish Park, two Chelsea starlets are currently impressing on loan. Plymouth Argyle fans will be tempted to travel to Huish Park, with on-loan striker Scott Sinclair likely to figure in Brian Eastick’s squad.

Sinclair was signed by Jose Mourinho from Bristol Rovers for an initial fee of £200,000 and has demonstrated his growing talent in Argyle’s march to the quarter finals of The FA Cup, under Ian Holloway.

Jack Cork has been gaining vital first team experience too on loan at Yeovil’s League One rivals AFC Bournemouth, but missed Tuesday night’s game due to a hamstring tear.

The Dutch Head Coach Wim Koevermans was capped once at senior international level, with his main claim to fame being part of the victorious Euro ’88 squad which contained the likes of Marco van Basten, Ronald Koeman and Ruud Gullit.

Yeovil Town Chairman John Fry said: "We are absolutely delighted to be able to host an England match down here in Somerset at Huish Park.

"It is a sign of the growing stature of the club within the Football League and will help highlight Yeovil more brightly on the football map of England.

"It will also give our supporters and people in the Somerset area a chance to see some of the potential stars of English football in the near future."

Tickets for the match are on sale now from the Yeovil Town FC ticket hotline on 01935 847888. Tickets are priced at £3 for adults (£5 on the night) and £1 for concessions.

Schools and groups (minimum of 15 people; 1 adult per 10 children) can book tickets in advance at a cost of just 50p per ticket.
