A James Morrison volley was the difference between England and Belgium as Martin Hunter's Young Lions triumphed in Northampton.

Martin Hunter expected a tough test from a well-disciplined Belgian side coached by a familiar foe, Marc Van Geersom.

In front of a full-house at Sixfields, it was England who struck first and maintained their lead to come away with the win.

Morrison was well-placed in the Belgian area. From a training-ground corner, the ball was flicked on at the near post and the young Middlesbrough midfielder was on-hand to volley home to give England the lead.

It was an advantage that they would hold on to and, in their first game at Under-18 level since last June, England were victorious. The win gives the side great confidence as they build towards next year's Under-19s UEFA Championship qualifiers.
