The England U17s face games against Portugal, Russia and Italy in September.
Thursday, 12 August 2004.
John Peacock has named his England Under 17s squad for the Pepsi International Tournament next month.
The Three Lions will take on Italy, Russia and Portugal in the annual youth tournament to be played at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium between 1st and 5th September.
Current holders Portugal, who have knocked the U17s out of the last two European Championships at the semi-final stage, will once again provide a stern test for England's youngsters.
"This competition will give the team an early challenge," said Peacock.
"Three games in a few short days against three strong nations will help educate the players individually and as a team and will build on what a number of them have already experienced at international level."
Indeed, there are a few faces in the squad familiar to an England shirt including Michael Mancienne and Myles Weston who were involved in the Pepsi Tournament 12 months ago.
