Dubbed 'Crazy Horse' by The Kop, Emlyn Hughes was a popular player who played at full-back for England but alongside Phil Thompson in the central defence for Liverpool.

Born in Barrow, Hughes started at Blackpool before earning a big move to Liverpool where he won the majority of his England caps.

Scored his only goal in May 1972 in a 3-0 win against Wales.
