England midfielder Joe Cole believes that the Three Lions can take the positives from Wednesday's friendly game with the Czech Republic at Wembley.

Cole netted a late goal to seal a 2-2 draw, although England were consistently denied by opposition goalkeeper Petr Cech, ironically one of Cole's Chelsea team-mates.

With the first World Cup qualifying game against Andorra coming up in just over a week, Cole admitted the team were disappointed not to have won the game and are now doubly keen to put things right in Barcelona a week on Saturday.

"We don't like it as much as them (the Czechs), so we're going to go home disappointed because we've not won at Wembley when we should have won," he said.

"I'm a fan first and foremost and I want England to do well and all we can do is to try and take away the positives.

"We'd like to tell the fans that we take full responsibility and it's on us to get to the World Cup and that's the be all and end all for the next 18 months."

With many of the players in Fabio Capello's squad proving key members of their successful club sides, Cole says there is a lot of hard work going on to try and recreate those performances for the Three Lions.

"It's up to us to try and take that club form into England games and, believe me, we're working hard at that," he added.

"We're coming together, working hard and talking about it amongst ourselves and we will get there, I'm sure of that.

"We have a good set of lads in there, with good players and I'm sure we'll get where we want to go."
