Fabio Capello starts work at The FA on January 7 2008.
Tuesday, 01 January 2008.

As 2008 begins, there is a new dawn for England and plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
With Fabio Capello taking over as the new England Manager from Monday 7 January, attentions are already being focused on the first game in which he will be in charge.
That takes place on Wednesday 6 February at Wembley Stadium when Switzerland are the opposition and the game charts the beginning of a new era for The FA.
Having had chance to view games and the players at his disposal, all eyes will be on Capello’s first squad and team selection for the match.
With the visitors preparing for the European Championships as joint hosts with Austria, they will be keen to ensure as competitive a fixture as possible having had a lack of qualifying games in which to prepare themselves over the last year and a half.
England themselves will be determined to put the disappointment of not qualifying for Euro 2008 firmly behind them and get the New Year off to a perfect start.
The encounter with Switzerland is swiftly followed by a trip across the Channel to play France the following month in another International Friendly.
Taking place at the Stade de France on Wednesday 26 March, the game pits Capello against Raymond Domenech, whilst many of the players from both sides are familiar with each other given several French internationals ply their trade in English football.
The qualifying games for the World Cup 2010, to be held in South Africa, begin later in the year with the first match scheduled for September.
Whilst the exact dates and locations of the games haven’t been finalised just yet, England do know that they will be facing Croatia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Andorra in Group 10. News on who England will face first is likely to be confirmed in the early months of 2008.
The possibility is that there will be four qualifying matches taking place in 2008, with two games in September followed by another double in October.
All in all, it looks to be another big year in English football and you can keep in touch with everything that is happening, whether it’s squad announcements, fixture announcements or the latest news from the organisation, right here on TheFA.com
