Fabio Capello has confirmed that David Beckham is one of the candidates to captain England permanently, with the LA Galaxy midfielder being given the armband for the friendly with Trinidad and Tobago.
It is two years since David Beckham stepped down as captain following the World Cup in Germany, but after winning his 100th cap in Paris Beckham now reclaims the captaincy for England's final game of the season.
Capello has said that he will name his permanent captain in August, and Beckham joins Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand and John Terry in having captained the side since the Italian took charge in January.
