Tickets for England's 'B' International with Albania at Turf Moor have sold out, with fans eager for the chance to watch the Three Lions prepare for the crucial qualifier with Estonia next month.
The match will enable Steve McClaren to give match practice to members of the England squad in the lead up to senior internationals against Brazil and Estonia in early June.
England "B" matches have been seen as stepping stones to the senior team since they were introduced by Walter Winterbottom back in 1949.
England won the first match at that level 4-0 in Finland and three days later, on the same tour, we achieved another victory by the same scoreline in Holland.
There have been 54 "B" internationals to date and England's record reads: W37 D8 L9.
The most recent England ‘B’ international was played at Reading’s Madejski Stadium against Belarus in the lead-up to the 2006 World Cup. There have been 54 England ‘B’ internationals to date.
England have played Albania four times at senior level, winning on each occasion. The last meeting was a 2-0 victory in Newcastle in September 2001.
England will play Brazil in the first senior international at the new Wembley stadium on Friday 1 June before travelling to Estonia for a Euro 2008 qualifier on Wednesday 6 June.
