England Head Coach Steve McClaren visited Espanyol's Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc on Wednesday as he prepares for next month's crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers.
The Three Lions will play Andorra there on 28 March - the second part of an international double header as England bid to qualify for Austria and Switzerland.
McClaren, in Barcelona to watch Liverpool take on the Spanish champions, thought it an ideal opportunity to check out the venue for the Andorra clash, which was used for the 1992 Olympics, and he was pleased with what he saw.
"It looks a good pitch," said the England boss. "It looks a good playing surface, although they might need to do some work on the goalmouths."
Although England will be the away side, thousands of fans are expected to travel to Barcelona to watch the Three Lions after UEFA agreed to switch the game from Andorra.
"It's the same everywhere we go, the support is absolutely terrific," he added. "There will be loads of England fans coming over. It will be like a home game."
While McClaren will be casting his eye over the likes of Steven Gerrard, Peter Crouch and Jamie Carragher tonight, it's the former England captain, David Beckham, who has been grabbing the headlines.
The Real Madrid midfielder inspired his side to a 3-2 win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening, playing a part in all the home side's goals.
McClaren, who watched the game on TV, admitted that Beckham's return to form - he scored against Real Sociedad earlier in the month - is a nice problem to have.
"
It gives me a problem, but it's one of the problems you welcome, players putting pressure on and performing well in their clubs," McClaren said.
"It's a problem I'd rather have than not have, so it will be interesting."
McClaren added that he was not surprised to see Beckham starring for Real, just weeks after he was told he would not play for the club again.
"That's all you get from David Beckham, a reaction from every adversity he has gone through in his career," said McClaren.
"He has always bounced back, has always been professional and got on with the job.
"It's pleasing to see. A month ago he would never play for Real Madrid again and there he is starring in the game against Bayern Munich and being Man of the Match."
McClaren will be in Munich for the second leg to see if Beckham's Real Madrid can finish the job and knock out Owen Hargreaves' side.
