Steve McClaren puts the Three Lions through their paces as they prepare to take on Macedonia and Croatia. |
Paul Robinson says he is full of confidence after keeping eight clean sheets in his last nine England appearances.
The Tottenham goalkeeper has been in superb form for the Three Lions in the past four months, with only Sweden managing to find a way past him in open play in that period.
And having such a self-assured man between the posts is certain to be a positive going into the two crucial European Championship qualifiers against Macedonia and Croatia.
"If you don't count the penalties against Portugal in the World Cup, then I've only conceded in one game out of the last nine and hopefully I can extend that record," Robinson explained.
"My recent record is very good and I'm going into these games feeling confident of extending that run. Myself and the defence work as a unit and we pride ourselves on keeping clean sheets.
"We know that if we keep the other side out and the strikers can score, then we will obviously be winning matches."
And Robinson insists England can cope with whatever system is needed to beat Macedonia and Croatia.
Three Lions Head Coach Steve McClaren has admitted that formations may change for the two European Championship qualifiers, with holding midfielder Owen Hargreaves ruled out with a broken leg.
But the goalkeeper added: "We have got players who can adapt to whatever the situation is. Whether we play with three or four or even five at the back, the quality of players that we have got means we can adapt.
"I don't mind what system we play, as long as I am standing behind them!"
