Jermaine Jenas enjoyed an extended period in his favoured central midfield position against Uruguay, and hopes the experience will be happening more and more often in the months to come.
Jenas told TheFA.com: "I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was nice to get 45 minutes and for us to nick it at the very end was just as good.
"It's been a while since I got myself out there for England. I've had a few short appearances, ten minutes here and there, but this was very good for me."
On the subject of Sven's World Cup squad Jermaine insisted he was concentrating on his own game.
"All I can do is continue, keep doing what I have been doing for Spurs and then hopefully I'll be involved.
"It was important out there that I kept my discipline and shape but working with Michael was easy.
"We have played together a number of times at club level and we know each others game pretty well now and I think we fit well in the way we play."
