A gleaming Peter Crouch spoke excusively to TheFA.com just moments after scoring his first goal for England.
The Liverpool man came off the bench to grab the equaliser as The Three Lions came from a goal down to beat Uruguay at Anfield on Wednesday night.
"It's great when you get your first goal, to do it here at Anfield is a special moment," said Crouch. "I just wanted to make an impact and hopefully I've done that."
Being 6ft 7ins tall, Crouch is seen by many as an ideal substitute, a player who could offer something different should the Wayne Rooney-Michael Owen partnership fail to fire.
"Obviously you want to start, we have some world-class players - Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Darren Bent started, obviously I want to start as much as anyone else, but hopefully I can make an impact coming off the bench," he added.
Crouch hopes he will be rewarded for his display with a ticket to Germany.
"Most of the lads are desperate to go to the World Cup, I'm no different," he added.
