Paraguayan midfielder Carlos Paredes saved Reggina from defeat to Palermo.
Carlos the tackler

In the first of our new series looking at the players that England could be facing this summer in Germany, we turn our attention to Italy where a left-sided Paraguayan saved his side from defeat with an injury-time goal.
29-year-old Carlos Paredes is likely to form a midfield quartet that could pose England problems if they continue their strong qualification form that saw them defeat Argentina 1-0 last September.
Paredes plays alongside the veteran playmaker Roberto Acuña and the experienced pairing compliments perfectly two promising talents, Julio dos Santos, 22, and Edgar Barreto, 21.
Both youngsters performed outstandingly and played a major role in the surprise progress to the 2004 Olympic Games final.
Today however he was playing for his club side, Serie A strugglers Reggina, and he was again the saviour with a last minute overhead kick.
Paredes produced a moment of brilliance to force the ball home to make it 2-2 just when it seemed Andrea Caracciolo had won it for Palermo with his 80th-minute strike.
Simone Barone had put the visitors in the lead in the 39th minute only for Gaetano De Rosa to provide Reggina's first equaliser of the game on the stroke of half-time.
It meant new Palermo coach Giuseppe Papadopulo's successful week ended on something of a disappointing note.
He took over the Palermo hot-seat last Sunday after Luigi Del Neri was sacked following a string of poor results.
The former Siena and Lazio coach could not have asked for a better debut as his team knocked AC Milan out of the Coppa Italia 48 hours later.
The Rossoneri enjoyed an emphatic 3-0 win to progress through to the semi-finals of the competition with a 3-1 aggregate score.
He was to be denied a second victory thanks to the persistance of Paredes who is one to watch when Paraguay take to the field against England in Frankfurt.
On 10 June England will kick off their World Cup campaign against the South American side and if Paredes is lining up for the opposition it is sure to be a tough game.
Paraguay will play friendly matches against Norway, on 24 May, and Denmark three days later in preparation for the World Cup.
