Frankfurt: England v Paraguay, Saturday 10 June, 2pm
The Waldstadion will host England’s opening game against Paraguay on 10 June. Capacity for the stadium is 48,132 but there will be 38,437 tickets available to be purchased for the clash.
£85 million of work on the futuristic stadium began in mid-2002, the ‘old’ Waldstadion hosting amongst others the waterlogged semi-final between Poland and West Germany in 1974, and the Muhammad Ali vs Karl Mildenberger bout in 1966.
In more recent times, the new arena hosted the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 Final between Brazil and Argentina. The stadium is home to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt and will also be hosting a quarter-final clash as well.
Nuremberg: England v Trinidad and Tobago, Thursday 15 June, 5pm
England will be in Nuremberg for their game against Trinidad and Tobago on 15 June. The Frankenstadion is only one of three stadiums to feature an athletics track though does boast a unique atmosphere and superb facilities.
£37 million of reconstruction has seen the ground incorporate eco-friendly measures including a vast rainwater collection cistern capable of supplying the stadium's entire sprinkling and watering needs.
England’s game will have a capacity of 32,341 and the stadium hosted three matches at the Confederations Cup 2005, including the Germany v Brazil semi-final. Originally opened in 1928, the stadium has now been renovated three times.
Cologne: Sweden v England, Tuesday 20 June, 8pm
England’s final group game against Sweden will be contested on 20 June. Opened in spring 2004 with £74 million of work behind it, Cologne missed out in the 1974 World Cup and will host five games in all.
The new arena, constructed on the site of the old Müngersdorfer stadium, staged its inaugural match on 31 March 2004, a friendly between Germany and Belgium and designed as a compact, intense space stadium, the steeply banked upper tiers feature a 34 degree rake, with the pitch separated from the stands by less than eight metres.
Home to FC Cologne, 35,926 tickets will be available to be purchased for the game.
