Wayne Rooney says he can't wait for the World Cup Finals after helping England sign off their qualifying campaign with a win over Poland.
The England striker was outstanding in a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford and says he was delighted with the display.
He said: "We played very well tonight, it was a good game and we're pleased. We deserved to win and thankfully Lamps popped up at the end to win it for us."
Rooney acknowledged that England have had to take their fair share of criticism in recent weeks but believes they were back to their best this time.
He said: "I think we produced a better performance. We worked hard and believed in ourselves and we got the ball forward well.
"There's been criticism but the fans have been very loyal all the way through and we're happy to give them a win.
"Poland are a good side, you can see that from the results they have got in this group. But we have beaten them twice. We won the group and qualified and that's amazing, that's all we wanted to do.
"I'm looking forward to the World Cup Finals now. I've said before I think we've got a good chance when we get there."
