Jermain Defoe feels the three-pronged attack that faced Wales was a success as England secured a comfortable 2-0 win to top World Cup Qualifying European Group 6.

Much of the pre-match talk had centred on which two strikers would be selected from Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, and Jermain Defoe.

"We worked hard and everyone stuck together. It was a good display and I thought we deserved the three points - I thought we were the better side.
