England's 6-1 demolition of Iceland in Manchester was a morale-boosting result and now everything looks to be coming together in time for the championship.

"Unlike at the last World Cup, we're fitter and have no serious injuries at all," Sven said.

"The team is in good shape, there's a good atmosphere in the squad, they're a good bunch of boys. I think everything is looking very fine."

Though England captain David Beckham left the pitch at half-time to undergo medical attention to his back, Sven stresses that both he and John Terry would be fine for the match against France on 13 June.

Central defender Terry was rested for the match after he tweaked his hamstring during the 1-1 draw against japan on Tuesday.

"Beckham hasn't any big problem," Sven explained.

"Two weeks ago it was decided that straight after he had finished he should go and this injection.

"I can guarantee he will practice on Tuesday and be ready for France.

"I also hope John Terry can train on Tuesday. There shouldn't be any doubts at all, he will be ready for France."

Sven changed all but two players at half-time but he insisted it was good to see all the squad players do well and show what they can provide come Euro 2004.

"It's important when you go into a big tournament that those who may not start the games are in good shape.

"I was very happy with the second half performance, everyone played well and we scored some nice goals."
