Henry was crowned at a dinner in London on Sunday night, just hours after Arsenal had clinched the Championship by drawing 2-2 against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Three Lions defender Cole will come up against Henry when England play France in the Euro 2004 Finals in June.

But right now he is delighted the Frenchman is on his own side at club level.

He said: "Thierry deserves his award. He's unbelievable. I'm probably biased but he's scored some great goals and we owed a lot to him over the season. Of course it was a team result to win the title but Thierry is special."

Cole admits he was over the moon to clinch the title on 'enemy' territory at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

"It's a great acheivement for us," he said. "And we enjoyed every minute of it.

"At the start of the season the priority was to win the Champioinship and now we have done it. It's a great feeling."
