Sven-Goran Eriksson's immediate post-match reaction to England's Quarter Final defeat against Brazil:

"This happens in football," said the coach. "We did rather well early on, but with 11 against 10, we should have done better.

"We couldn't keep the ball - they are better than us at keeping the ball and that is the difference."

Looking forward, Sven was keen to stress the positives coming out of England's World Cup adventure.

"I think we learnt a lot about many things," he said.

"A lot of young players in the squad will be better in two years' time."

And his overall assessment of the experience?

"Its been very nice.

"But I'm disappointed about today.

"We were not strong enough to come back."
