Thursday, 23 May 2002.
On a relaxing day for the England team, the players and staff were able to take to the fairways for a round of golf and among them were some very talented players.
But it was goalkeeping coach Ray Clemence who came away with the afternoon's Top Individual Performance award.
Michael Owen had a successful day also proving his eye for target stretches beyond the football field when he scooped the 'Nearest to the pin' Award. He also claimed the honour of 'Winning pair' with partner David Seaman.
In the 'Longest Drive' contest it was the man who usually has the longest drive to England games - Bayern Munich's Owen Hargreaves.
All the golfers' scores went towards their team's overall score and the staff went down to the players by 3½ points to 1½.
The players must now turn their attentions to business tomorrow morning as the all return to the training ground, Sven will also address the press at a conference tomorrow after he has heard the results of Danny Murphy's scan.
